The International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT) is a not for profit organization dedicated to fostering tourism initiatives which contribute to international understanding and cooperation, an improved quality of environment - both built and natural, the preservation of heritage and through these initiatives, helping to bring about a peaceful and sustainable world. More than 20 prestigious international tourism organizations have agreed to become funding members in a coalition of partners for World Peace through Tourism.
They include the European Travel Commission (www.etc-europe-travel.org), Africa Travel Association (www.africa-ata.org), Caribbean Tourism Organization (www.caribtourism.org), International Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (www.iacvb.org), Society of Incentive Travel Executives (www.site-intl.org), International Federation of Women Travel Organization (www.ifwto.org), Society for the Advancement of Travel for the Handicapped (www.sath.org) and others. Each founding partner of the Coalition is committed to a "Millenium Project" which contributes to the vision of Tourism as a Global Peace Industry.
